After a dozen years as a designer in the houses of Chanel and Robert Clergerie, Avril Gau has chosen independence. While continuing to work as a freelance designer for such great houses as Loewe and Accessoire Diffusion, she has given birth to her own brand.
In the spring of 2002, the first collection of Avril Gau shoes burst upon the scene. Four years later she created her first collection of bags and small leather goods.
The Avril Gau style is timeless: both classic and contemporary, retro and modern. To create her own vision for 2010, she plays with the rules of design. The uninhibited juxtaposition of materials, the use of an oversized buckle or an inverted zipper, harmonize with her signature clean lines.
Avril's use of color is refined. The leathers from which she crafts her shoes and accessories are produced by Europe's finest tanneries. The bags are produced in France, the shoes in Italy and Portugal.
